CV
Martin Janecký started working with glass at the age of 13 in his father's company in the Czech Republic. After graduating from the Secondary Industrial Glass School in Nový Bor, he gained experience in South Africa, Sweden, the Netherlands and especially in the USA, where he studied at the Pilchuck Glass School under Richard Royal and William Morris.
Soon he also became a sought-after teacher-lecturer. He has been a guest artist and lecturer in many glass programs such as the Corning Museum of Glass Studio, Pilchuck Glass School, Penland School of Crafts, and the University of Toyama. He is especially known for his bravura mastery of the technology of shaping glass from inside a glowing flask, called inside bubble sculpting, which he uses to create unique sculptures. In 2019, he founded his own glass studio in Prague's Kampa district - Janecký Studio.
Today he is considered one of the best glass sculptors in the world. He exhibits his works in galleries and museums around the world.
