BIO

 

A painter and a photographer, Antonín Střížek works primarily with narrative in the creation of his images. In approaching molten-glass sculpting, he draws on his experience in his primary media, enriching it with painterly accents. He is the author of the stage curtain at the Prague State Opera.

CV

ANTONÍN STŘÍŽEK was born on 22 May 1959 in Rumburk. From 1983 to 1988 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. Since 1989 he has had over fifty solo exhibitions at home and abroad. National Gallery in Prague, Central Bohemia Gallery in Prague, Benedikt Rejt Gallery in Louny, Gallery of Fine Arts in Roudnice nad Labem, Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna San Marino. Since 1997 he has been the head of the painting studio at the Academy of Fine Arts.
